COVID-19 Testing Newport  Beach

GET TESTED FOR CORONAVIRUS WITHIN MINUTES

Same Day PCR Covid Test Orange County

The Standard (PCR) viral test uses a nasal/throat swab to detect a current infection of COVID-19 in your body. This test may be required before certain surgeries, returning to work, discontinuing self-isolation, and even traveling to certain countries. The clinics will use what is currently the most common diagnostic procedure, known as polymerase chain-reaction testing, or PCR. The PCR process involves using a cotton swab to collect samples from the nose or throat, which are then examined for gene markers specific to the coronavirus. The PCR process looks for potentially active cases; it is not a blood test and does not check for the antibodies that indicate a person has had coronavirus and recovered. The Rapid (Antigen) viral test uses a nasal/throat swab to detect a current infection of COVID-19 in your body. Optimal testing time is a minimum of 3 days, day 5 being best day to test after known exposure.
